I sit at La Gloria at 3 PM on a Sunday afternoon. This time just drinks and appetizers. Still, authenticity is big at La Gloria, even for cocktails. Cocktails worth exploring. Sadly, I must note, Poor selection of beers. Sitting outside in July with shade, by the river with a cool breeze. Nice.

Warning! To those who are on a budget, everything here is only a la carte! It'll cost you an arm and a leg. They charge $5 for chips and salsa! No delicious enchiladas! No great tasting Nachos! Extremely Overly priced! Panchito's on McCullough, Jim's Restaurants & La Margarita at Market square or even Mi Terra Restaurant serves more fresh tasty delicious food with great prices, and good healthy portions also, regardless of which entree you order! We walked into La Gloria, sat down and looked at the menu and the prices, then we left. I will never return back to this place. It's a tourist hot spot trap and everything is extremely overpriced. Not for the locals in my opinion.

The wait to be seated wasn’t to bad. Got our drinks within 5 minutes, awesome! But then we waited for 20 minutes just to get served stale chips and an hour to get served our food which came at different intervals within a 15 minute span. Wait person wasn’t attentive at all. We’ve only been here a handful of times and the experience has been the same. If you want okay food and have the time to wait this is the place for you.

I ordered the Bistec Tacos and they weren't very tasteful. The corn on the cob was pretty good tho. Definitely wouldn't come back, but it's super dog friendly and there was a super cute black poodle and she had a bow and she was so friendly!!!!!! If you want some good Tex Mex food do not go here go to El Tequila across from John Jay.

La Gloria was such a wonderful dining experience. Most wouldn't say that about a Mexican restaurant, but this one is exceptional. Our waitress walked us through every item and what it was. She gave personal recommendations and was very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I got the Mexican pizza and it was very tasty. Had my leftovers the next day and it was just as good the second time.
